The Lewiston/Niagara-on-the-Lake Rotary Club is pleased to present its first BBQ rib festival called ART OF RIBS 2010. This is being held in conjunction with the 44th Annual Lewiston Art Festival which draws up to 30,000 people each year. The Art of Ribs will be held in Academy Park on Center Street and begins where the art festival ends! The art festival will end at 5PM, so it’s a perfect compliment for attendees to visit Academy Park for more fun, great BBQ ribs, other foods, beer, music and entertainment.

Art of Ribs is a Rotary fund raising event aimed to benefit Mount St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation in Lewiston, NY. Funds will be used to purchase a new transport isolet which is used to transport new born babies from the delivery room to the nursery. In addition, funds will be directed towards the new Woman’s Breast Care Center.

Funds are generated from Sponsorships, BBQ and food vendor booth sales, proceeds from beer and merchandise sales, and from TUBBY, our 7’ piggy bank staged at the entrance of the park which accepts $2 donations from all attendees that enter the festival. If you or your company would like to become a sponsor for Art of Ribs, click on BE A SPONSOR! And you’ll be directed to a sponsorship form outlining the various options. If you are a professional BBQ or food vendor and would like to participate at Art of Ribs, click on BE A BBQ/FOOD VENDOR! And complete the application forms. If you can offer music and entertainment, click on BE A MUSIC/ENTERTAINMENT VENDOR !

The Art of Ribs Festival requires up to 300 volunteers to help manage the event. This is our greatest area of need. If you would like to volunteer, click on BE A VOLUNTEER! and you’ll be directed to a sign-up form. Volunteers commit to work a minimum four (4) hour shift and receive an Art of Ribs t-shirt as our token of appreciation.

A Rotary International tent will be setup at the Art of Ribs festival providing information to the general public regarding the aim of Rotary and its worldwide service. Stop by the Rotary tent and view a film presentation to learn about the good works that Rotary does worldwide, one of which is the eradication of polio around world. The Rotary Tent will be tended by Rotarians that can answer your questions and provide information on local Rotary Clubs in your local area.
